Safety surfacing can be another element of play. Poured-in-Place (PIP) Rubber safety surfacing is extremely durable and a very customizable playground surface. With a wide range of colors to choose from, you are able to add more play value and an element of fun to the playground by adding logos, shapes, themed designs, hopscotch and more into your playground safety surfacing.
PIP is a two-layer rubber safety surfacing solution. The top layer or the “wear layer” is composed of colored rubber granules mixed with a binder and troweled evenly over the shock-absorbing base layer. The base layer is made of shredded recycled rubber from post-consumer tires in varying thicknesses determined by the critical fall height of the playground equipment.
PIP should always be installed by a certified professional that has been trained in the proper installation procedure. Poured-in-Place Rubber safety surfacing also requires specific temperatures and weather conditions for the installation to be successful. After the PIP safety surface installation is complete, you will also need to allow time for the surface to properly cure before allowing users on the play and fitness space, aquatic environment, or sports field. Once cured, the rubber playground safety surface is non-toxic and environmentally inert.
Poured-in-Place (PIP) Rubber playground safety surfacing is a very low maintenance solution.
